A Review on the New Paranoia-humor Based Video Game Fallout 3, After having missed the first game and picking up on the second, I could NOT let myself miss out on the third addition to this wonderful set of games! After having played it I must admit it wasn't leading up to my expectations, however after playing it for some time now I am finally coming to see that this is indeed a great game and something I can really enjoy, this review will give my insight on the new Title, Fallout 3 for the Xbox 360.
Summary: Vault-Tec engineers have worked around the clock on an interactive reproduction of Wasteland life for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own vault. Included is an expansive world, unique combat, shockingly realistic visuals, tons of player choice, and an incredible cast of dynamic characters. Every minute is a fight for survival against the terrors of the outside world - radiation, Super Mutants, and hostile mutated creatures. From Vault-Tec, America's First Choice in Post Nuclear Simulation. Vault 101 - Jewel of the Wastes. For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth. [Bethesda Softworks]
You'll start your role in this game first by.. being born? That's right, you will then reprogram what you plan to look like as you mature in your 20's. You will then follow your selected childhood until you finally escape from the vault with your father, at this point you get your first "real" gun, and must find your way in the wild. The interesting bit about Fallout is that it has no set path that you must follow, you do what you want, only tending to an actual storyline at pivotal moments in the game. Basically you will be selecting what it is you would like to do via a narrative menu which allows you to pick from multiple things to say, which in turn triggers various event's, it has been done in many games before however this game is played on this nature alone, really interesting to me. As you advance in the game you will gain attribute points along with your levels, which can be used to receive better weapons, tools, armor and all sort's of wild enhancements that will really keep you coming back for more of this game.. simply because you seem to always be compelled to that next upgrade, always a winner in any game! Throughout the followed storyline you will search for your father, whom had escaped right before you, causing you to chase after him in search, encountering many enemies and bosses you will fight using a single targeted aiming system with most weapons, or by using The Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S.) which is a combat system used to take on multiple targets, this will slow the battle down allowing you to plan strategies, and making the game alot easier overall. Ultimately in the end you get to decide on the side of good or evil, fight tons of mutants and enjoy the FallOut world in all it's glory. I think fallout really is another one of those great games that will yet to be replaced for years to come, we can only enjoy them until they get old and something else takes over, But I'll be willing to call FallOut one of the great games of our day, bravo!
I hope this review gave you a dose of insight on this great title, and I would encourage all readers to go try it out, you will need alot of time if your the type that likes to "beat" every game, I thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed, until next time.
